Something You Can Do!

OK, this is pretty great:  artist Ashley Wood, whose vinyl toys are astonishingly popular around the world, is doing something pretty wonderful tomorrow, to support the Japanese earthquake/tsunami victims:

Yep.  3A Toys, Ashley Wood's company, is going to eat the cost of production, shipping and handling, and donate 100% of the price, every penny, to Japan relief.  The price is going to be around $40-$45, which is much lower than 3A's usual prices which run around $150-$200.  It's a fantastic way to pick up a valuable collectible piece and do some good at the same time.

  1. Grrr. It's 11 AM on the day of the supposed sale and so far no sign or mention of it on Bambaland.com. I hope I haven't helped perpetuate a hoax. If this sale isn't for real, that would be one of the cruelest things I've ever run across. I don't give a damn about the toy, but don't dangle relief in front of those poor people. I'm off to send the fifty bucks I set aside for this to the Red Cross and I suggest you do the same. If things change, I'll post here to update; I'll be checking the site throughout the day.

  2. No hoax. It was not made clear that the sale started at 9:00 AM Hong Kong time. The toys sold out in minutes. Good for Japan relief, though.
